BREAKING: McGregor Has A Few Words For The UFC’s Top Featherweights!

BREAKING: McGregor Has A Few Words For The UFC’s Top Featherweights!

After his decision win over Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night this past weekend, Conor McGregor took to Twitter to pass judgement on the entire UFC Featherweight division. Putting down fighters such as Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson, amongst others who have proven themselves to be atop their division. I find McGregor’s comments to be amusing. True McGregor is coming off of two straight UFC victories, but to breakdown a division the way he did is comical to say the least. Especially given the opponents McGregors’s faced thus far in his young UFC career. I believe McGregor is blinded by the hype Dana and others have placed around him. We shall see in the near future if McGregor’s actions are as good as his lip service.

Never Say Never!

Never Say Never
Never Say Never

Randy “The Natural” Couture has signed a deal to partner up with Bellator and Spike TV, and apparently Dana was none too pleased with the way things went down. “I don’t respect him at all!” were the words Dana White said when asked about Randy Couture in a recent interview with MMA Weekly. Dana went on to say “Randy Couture can’t buy a ticket (to the UFC).”

We all know Dana is a guy who wears his heart on his sleeves, but we have also heard him fly off the deep end and say things he doesn’t necessarily mean. For instance; Dana was “disgusted” with Nate Marquardt after Nate had failed his medicals for UFC on Versus 4. Dana went on to say, “He’s been cut from the UFC… he won’t fight for the UFC ever again.” However, Nate is set to make his well anticipated return to the octagon this year.

Back in early 2011, Dana was asked if Women’s MMA had a place in the UFC. Dana’s response was simply, “Never!” Today not only has Women’s MMA made it to the UFC, Women’s MMA will headline UFC 157 Live  Saturday February 23, 2013 on PPV!

The Sleeping Giant Has Awakened! Strikeforce’s Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier

The Sleeping Giant Has Awakened!

Strikeforce has decided to hang ’em up, “It’s time.” were the words spoken by founder and CEO Scott Coker as he was interviewed for the last time in the middle of the Strikeforce cage.

Saturday, January 12, 2013 was the last Strikeforce event ever and it was a night of mismatches and domination. One particular fighter that stuck out from the crowd was Strikforce Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier. With pure brute strength and superior wrestling, Daniel Cormier has all the tools to walk into the UFC and dominate at 205. Cormier is the sleeping giant of MMA today and now that Strikforce is a memory, I believe Cormier will have a successful run in the UFC and will soon become the new Light Heavyweight Champion!

Precautionary Measures!

Lately, MMA has been plagued by injured fighters. Are fighters training too hard or do they need to just train smarter?

UFC 151 Cancellation:
Here is a drawing I did in light of the whole Jones-Henderson, Dana, UFC 151 debacle.

First off, Dan Henderson pulled out of the UFC 151 main event due to injury. So it’s Chael Sonnen to the rescue? No, Jones refuses Sonnen’s challenge and drops out of UFC 151 as well. Dana White blames Jones for the cancellation of UFC 151 because of jones’ refusal to fight Chael Sonnen on three days notice. Fans and fighters took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, but seriously, How can an event so big rest on the shoulders of a single fighter?
